PROJECT SUMMARY

As consultant to the IPASS initiative sponsored by the Gates Foundation, Achieving the Dream, MDRC and the Community College Research Center at Columbia University (CCRC), the following webinar was developed to teach holistic advising practices to advisors at participant locations.

ROLE. Consultant, instructional designer and lead trainer.

​

INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGY: Live webinar supplemented with case study and job aids for use following the session. Focus is on relational skills and "push" (passive) and "pull" (active) learning strategies to maximize impact to student choice, planning and decision making. Visuals and prompts are used to demonstrate technique.

​

IMPACT: Project sponsor credited this as one of the most useful and well received of all educational materials created in early study phase.
